On 5 and 6 October, we held the first meetings for the new community-based performance we are creating together at La Baldufa and Zum-Zum Teatre. The project aims to bring people from different generations, life paths and backgrounds onto the stage, many of them with no previous theatre experience, and to make them an active part of the entire creative process.

These first sessions gave us the chance to get to know one another, talk, improvise, try out different stage ideas and, above all, play with telling and listening to stories. The people who took part shared memories, experiences, tales, fragments of their lives and personal stories that have helped us begin to discover possible directions for the project.

In a way, these meetings have already given us a first glimpse of what we would like the performance to become. A meeting place built around life stories from our own community. A space to listen to one another, to look more closely at the people around us and to discover what often remains hidden behind everyday life. Different stories that, when shared, speak about all of us and also allow us to look ahead and imagine possible futures.

The project is therefore not only about creating a performance, but also about allowing the community to enter the creative process and transform it. We still do not know exactly where all of this will take us, but these two days have been the starting point, and we have come away with the feeling that something truly special can grow from here.

We would especially like to thank everyone who took part in these first meetings for their trust, generosity and willingness to open up and share part of their story with us.

We will now continue working to define the team and begin a creative process that will accompany us over the coming months.
