Wrapping up a new edition of Enre9, the live arts festival of Zona 09

From 14 to 17 May, the Enre9 Festival once again brought life to Zona 09 with its 5th edition, transforming La Mariola, Turó de Gardeny and Blocs Joan Carles into spaces for culture, connection and shared experiences.

These were four intense days, with more than fifty free activities open to all audiences, bringing together professional performances, community creations, popular culture, music, circus, street performances, workshops and participatory spaces. Above all, they were days that once again placed at the centre an idea that has defined the festival since the beginning: culture as an experience open to everyone and built from the territory.

A festival that continues to create opportunities for encounter between different people and realities, while helping to challenge stigmatizing views of the neighbourhoods of Zona 09 and highlighting their cultural, human and community richness.

This fifth edition once again brought together different perspectives, artistic languages and experiences. Over these days, Zona 09 hosted circus, movement, music and street arts performances by professional companies from places such as Togo, France, Switzerland, Morocco and the Balearic Islands, sharing space with community creations developed throughout the year with schools, organisations and local collectives. All of this coexisted with the cultural expressions already present in Zona 09, reinforcing a festival shaped by diversity and participation.

We also want to highlight Enre9’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion, working to ensure that culture becomes a truly shared space, with adapted proposals a

nd the participation of people and artists with different realities and abilities.

The Enre9 Festival in Lleida, beyond four days

But if there is one thing the festival reminds us of every year, it is that Enre9 is not only about what happens during four days. Behind the programme there are months of meetings, creative processes, school activities, spaces for exchange and a great deal of shared work between neighbours, organisations, professional teams and institutions.

The Enre9 Festival is a year-round project that understands culture as a tool for strengthening connections, creating opportunities for relationships and continuing to imagine, together, more connected, open and vibrant neighbourhoods.

From the organisation, we want to thank all the people, schools, organisations, artists, technical teams, volunteers and institutions who made this new edition possible. Without the involvement of so many people, a project like this would not be possible.
