The Companyia de Comediants La Baldufa was created in Lleida, in 1996.
The main aims of the company are, firstly, to offer shows of high artistic quality. Secondly, our endeavour to create shows that are multidisciplinary using the utmost in theatrical resources. Thirdly our wish to offer shows that are suitable for all audiences but mainly for children. Finally, our aim to create shows that are ideologically committed to the values of solidarity, tolerance and respect.
01/10/2020 — La Baldufa is awarded the Premio Nacional de Artes Escénicas para la Infancia y la Juventud 2020, granted by the Ministerio de Cultura y Deporte del Gobierno de España. It is a prize for the company's trajectory, which highlights: 'the audience conception of being capable, critical and reflective regardless of their age' and the ability to create universes 'of a great richness in visual poetry'.
The company has also performed in many theatres, both in Catalonia and Spain, such as Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Teatre de la Llotja in Lleida, Teatro de la Abadía in Madrid, among others, and festivals such as FETEN in Gijón, Teatralia in Madrid, GREC — Festival de Barcelona, Temporada Alta in Girona, Fira Tàrrega, Fira de Titelles in Lleida, Mostra Igualada, Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, Titeremurcia, Festival Internacional de Mim in Sueca, FIET in Vilafranca de Bonany, among others.
La Baldufa has taken part recently or is to take part soon in distinguished venues and international festivals in Europe [France, Italy, Germany, England, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary, The Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Poland, Finland, Norway, Luxembourg, Romania, Switzerland, Northern Ireland and Wales] and out of Europe [Mexico, China, Costa Rica and Chile].
Nowadays and since 2008 La Baldufa organizes the Festival Esbaiola’t in the Valls d’Àneu, a family theatre festival in the Catalan Pyrenees.
